1. Overview
An automatic guided vehicle (AGV) is an industrial vehicle that loads goods automatically or manually, drives automatically according to a set route or leads a cargo trolley to a designated location, and then loads and unloads goods automatically or manually. According to the definition of JISD6801: AGV is an autonomous industrial vehicle that uses batteries as its power source. Automatic guided vehicles can truly play a role only if they form an automatic guided vehicle system (AGVS) with the automatic guidance system, automatic loading and unloading system communication system, safety system and management system according to the requirements of automation, flexibility and punctuality of material handling operations.
